Merv Clark

New Commodore & Crew

Following the 2019 AGM the staff at SBSC have changed a bit. For the first time in living memory the Membership Sec is not under the control of Merv Clark. I know you cannot believe it but he has stepped up to the role of Commodore.

The new Membership Sec is Jo Mahy. Not enough on her plate sailing three Scorpions at 2 clubs, she now is the friendly face for new members.

Phil Bailey continues to help the club by becoming the Rear Commodore.

There are several new faces on the committees, but more are required. Please help your club by helping out run it. At least that way you can bring your experiences and ideas to the front.

Website Updates

We’ve recently made a few updates to the back-end software running the website. This means that the look has changed a little but the site is basically the same as before. There are still a few minor changes to go but please let us know if you find anything not working correctly.

RYA Youth Summer courses

Thank you all for your fantastic support for our Summer Courses.

THEY ARE ALL NOW FULL.

In the event that someone drops out, they might be a vacancy but this is unlikely.  If you’ve been unlucky this year, Bookings for 2020 will start at the end of February.

RYA Adult courses

There are two more Adult courses this year and both still have vacancies so this is your chance to learn how to sail or sail better

It’s also an ideal opportunity, if your children are on one of our Youth Summer courses, to find out what they have been talking about over breakfast.  What are the Five Essentials and what on earth does a Kicking Strap do ?

The courses are :- AD 904 over four days between Thursday 22nd and Sunday 25th August.  This runs alongside one of the Youth Courses (YSS 97) for part of the time so an ideal opportunity for the whole family to learn to sail together.

                                  AD 905 over two weekends 14th & 15th September and 21st & 22nd September.

Please book in the normal way through training@suttonbinghamsc.net

We look forward to welcoming you on one of our courses.
