New RYA Training Principal
David Thomson stood down as RYA Principal at the Club’s AGM in November after 4 years and has handed over to Chris Hutton. Claire Thomson also stood down as Treasurer for the Training Centre.
Last year was another very successful year and Claire and I would like to wish Chris and the new team every success in 2020.
New Commodore & Crew
Following the 2019 AGM the staff at SBSC have changed a bit. For the first time in living memory the Membership Sec is not under the control of Merv Clark. I know you cannot believe it but he has stepped up to the role of Commodore.
The new Membership Sec is Jo Mahy. Not enough on her plate sailing three Scorpions at 2 clubs, she now is the friendly face for new members.
Phil Bailey continues to help the club by becoming the Rear Commodore.
There are several new faces on the committees, but more are required. Please help your club by helping out run it. At least that way you can bring your experiences and ideas to the front.
Website Updates
We’ve recently made a few updates to the back-end software running the website. This means that the look has changed a little but the site is basically the same as before. There are still a few minor changes to go but please let us know if you find anything not working correctly.
Laser Open Photos
The photos of the Laser open have been added to the gallery. A big thanks to Saffron Gallagher for all of the excellent photos.
Fun Day 15th September
Come along to the Fun Day on 15th September supporting Bart’s Bash & the St Margarets Hospice. There will be 3 races starting at 11.30 with entry by donation on the day
Banbury Chaser
Your team needs you at one of the premier sailing venues in the country. 6th October starting at 11.00am….however its at sea so it takes a little longer to get to the starting area so please get there a bit earlier.
